Our desktop apps for Windows and Mac can be configured to automatically update your status based on your computer activity. If you leave your computer unattended, Simple In/Out will check you out. Simple In/Out will then check you back in once you've returned to using your computer.
If your users live on their computers like we do, this is a great feature to keep the board up-to-date. When activity happens on their computer, Simple In/Out will make sure they are checked in. When their computer is idle, Simple In/Out will check them out. No more forgetting to update statuses.
Automatic activity updates will only take effect if it changes the user's status. Users can use the Simple In/Out app to leave a custom status comment (e.g. "At Dentist") and the automatic out update that happens when their computer goes idle will leave the custom comment intact.
We support Windows 8.1 or greater and macOS El Capitan (10.11) or greater.
When activated, Simple In/Out is notified from Windows itself that the computer is no longer active. When we receive that message, we update your status for you. No settings inside Windows can be used to determine how long of a period Windows waits before assuming you're away, it just happens automatically based on a number of factors behind the scenes.
When activated, Simple In/Out is notified when the screen locks or the screensaver begins. When either of these things happen, Simple In/Out will check you out. You can control via the System Preferences how long it is before these events occur
Yes, you can use a feature we call Office Hours. This allows you to choose time periods and days that automatic updates can happen so you don't have to worry about checking into the office on a Saturday if you're using your office laptop.
